Independent Platform Disclaimer

This application is an independent, crowdsourced initiative and is NOT affiliated with the Kerala Water Authority (KWA), Public Works Department (PWD), Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA), or any government body. The data is entirely user-generated and subject to rate-limiting and decay. Do not use this as a primary source during life-threatening emergency situations.

By using Jalam?, you acknowledge that this is a public platform where data is submitted voluntarily by citizen reporters. While we enforce strict rate limiting and expiration filters, reports could be outdated, inaccurate, or incomplete.

Our Quality Principles

  • 6-Hour Auto-Decay: Stale pins representing flooded roads automatically expire 6 hours after they are reported. This ensures commuters aren't misled by yesterday's waterlogging issues.
  • Rate Limiting & Anti-Spam: We restrict submissions by hashing device fingerprints. Outage reporting is locked for 10 minutes per area, and flood reporting is locked for 30 minutes within a 200m radius of any previously dropped pins.
  • Malayalam & English Translation: Designed for accessibility. Emergencies happen fast, and everyone in Kerala deserves access to local road conditions and water updates in the language they speak.
